or, “okay, even if i am *******, how can i get better?”
which model is most useful to superimpose on myself, in this era, the one of the hyper-connected metaphor? a business, the most possibly hyperconnected metaphor, seems apt, as one that can last forever, can incorporate any thing, and any one, in most ways, can send out agents to do its bidding, can self-repair and adjust, can give itself duties or free itself from them, can speak and act with perfect impunity, can extend its tentacles into our freest time, its products into our cells, its marketing and ideology in our neurons.
the basic functions it assumes, breathing and heartbeat for our economy, passing things to where they are most seemingly needed, would mirror the proper functioning of a human, if they were the same as a human. merely the legal definition makes them different, separate. (maybe this is why we cannot have true ai; maybe there are private, personal ais existing already. companies cannot create anything but a corporate ai, which legally cannot be a person, although spiritually they may be) so, seeing through this separateness, why could i not use this structure of self improvement and self-gathering on myself? would it make me too corporate, as the form does dictate the function, or would it efficientise my human life? (there is another can of worms there) I mean efficientisation in the sense of not at all how it is used in the business sense. It is a project of creating a more attuned life, and mind. Maybe that is not so dissimilar from what it means to a business, for the way its life and mind function. (Then my issue is with the morals and distribution of its fruits.) There is no limit to how long i could improve by 1%, at least, every day, by better learning, adjusting to, or changing my environment and focus.
i should set my goals high, assume the best and most optimistic, and learn how to accomplish it, instead of sitting idly by.
